Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, particularly in long-term care (LTC) and critical care environments. This role is essential in providing quality patient care through effective medication management and administration. The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions. Perform medication intake and verify patient information for accuracy. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during medication preparation. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications. Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient interactions. Collaborate with healthcare teams to support acute care initiatives and improve patient outcomes. Stay informed about medical terminology and pharmacy practices to enhance service delivery. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and safety protocols within the pharmacy. Experience Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required, preferably in LTC or hospital settings. Familiarity with critical care processes and acute care environments is highly desirable. Proficient understanding of medical terminology related to pharmacy practice. Experience with patient care services, emphasizing the importance of patient safety and satisfaction.
