Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our very busy establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wines and beverages, along with exceptional customer service skills. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating an exceptional wine list, providing recommendations to guests, and enhancing their dining experience through your expertise. Duties Develop and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the unique menu. Provide personalized wine recommendations to guests based on their preferences and meal choices. Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge of wines and pairings. Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning to ensure optimal food and wine pairings. Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing wines in accordance with food safety standards. Assist in banquet and catering events by providing wine service and guidance. Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and best practices in handling beverages. Engage with guests to create memorable dining experiences through exceptional service and upselling techniques. Skills Previous restaurant experience is essential, particularly in fine dining settings. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction. Proven sales abilities with experience in upselling beverages effectively. Familiarity with cash handling procedures within a food service environment. Qualifications: 2+ years in fine dining operations in similar concepts. Court of Masters Sommeliers level 2 or similar.
