Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management systems and accounting principles, as well as excellent analytical skills. Duties Process payroll for multiple clients (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly and monthly) accurately and on time using Intuit Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online. Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits administration, and tax information. Reconcile payroll on quarterly basis and prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll returns. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and reporting requirements. Perform account reconciliations related to payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies as needed. Utilize financial software for data entry, journal entries, and bookkeeping tasks related to payroll processing. Maintain digital payroll records filing systems in compliance with internal policies and procedures. Onboarding of new client payroll, including setup of Quickbooks payroll file and payroll tax accounts registrations. Oversight of any outsource team processing payroll overflow. Skills Proficiency in Intuit Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online software is required. Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with financial concepts and GAAP accounting practices is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and reporting. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong technical skills in financial software applications including QuickBooks and other accounting software tools. Effective communication skills to liaise with various clients, staff and contractors regarding payroll-related inquiries. This position is essential in ensuring that our organization runs smoothly by maintaining accurate payroll records while adhering to all relevant regulations and standards within the industry.
