HR GENERALIST

Location: North Broward Preparatory School

THE SCHOOL

North Broward Preparatory School, a member of the Nord Anglia family of schools, is an Apple Distinguished School with a vibrant STEAM program.

HR Generalist will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Additionally, this individual will support and provide guidance to more than 450 employees on matters related to benefits, leave, and workers compensation, while ensuring company policies and practices are adhered to. Excellent organisation, communication and IT skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential requirements. The nature of this role requires a tactful and confidential approach.

Duties And Job Responsibilities

Payroll Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintains HRIS systems (HR Connect and Success Factors); processes bi-weekly payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Communicates with Managers to ensure on-time approval of timesheets; processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions for the Accounting department. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Assists employees with accessing and requesting changes in the HRIS system.

HR Generalist Duties/Responsibilities:

Manages new hire process to include background checking, drug testing fingerprinting and new hire paperwork; works directly with all new hires to ensure all new hire requirements and documents are completed prior to the start of employment Assists all new hires with benefit enrollment: assist employees with benefit changes due to a qualifying event and during open enrollment Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director. Assists employees in applying for leave FMLA, short-term & long-term disability Manages the safety and compliance systems, to ensure all criminal background checks and child safeguarding trainings are up-to date and recorded accurately Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; maintains knowledge of regulatory changes. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains employee personnel and benefit files, and I9 forms Works with Substitute Coordinator to ensure teacher time off requests are submitted accurately Perform other administrative duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with payroll software systems; experience with HR Connect and Success Factors highly preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field a plus. Minimum of 3 years experience in full-cycle payroll processing required. 3+ years HR Generalist experience required
