The Human Resources Generalist will embody the corporate strategic goals and vision while providing exceptional service to our internal customers. As an active team contributor, you will encourage participation from other team members as well as be open to new ideas and thought processes. Initiative, active listening skills and adaptability are key success factors for the HR Generalist at ERMCO.
Responsibilities
Coach managers and employees on employee relations issues Lead and assist as necessary in investigation of and proper disposition of associate concerns Address employee issues through appropriate interpretation and administration of company policies. Conduct new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Manage employment- related inquiries from applicants, employees, and leaders, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Coordinate post-employment processes including job offers, background checks, drug screens, physicals, candidate notification, and start date Assist in policy/procedure communication, guidance, and related education activities to ensure HR policies, practices, and procedures are understood and consistently applied. Maintain employee information in HRIS including insurance coverage, pension plan, salary increase, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation Ensure all documentation is maintained in the HRIS system Review timesheets to ensure accuracy and consistency Administer job bid process while ensuring consistency with internal candidates Support special projects within the company Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices, review policies and practices to maintain compliance. Support efforts to ensure compensation and payroll activities are facilitated effectively Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Fully utilize HRIS systems and drive implementation of self-service programs and initiatives enabling employees to become more self-sufficient Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience Employee relations experience is preferred SHRM-CP/PHR a plus MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Teams) Ability to display a cooperative attitude, collaborate with work teams, and display a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail and adaptable to change. Anticipates and follows through on individual employee needs as well as maintains confidentiality Excellent judgement and problem-solving and skills with a strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR.
