VAAST Bicycles Summary Reporting to the Director of IT Solutions, the IT Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The IT Project Manager defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout the life cycle. This role ensures the consistent flow of current, accurate, and usable information between the IT Steering Committee and the Project Management Office (PMO). The IT Steering Committee provides project oversight, and the IT Project Manager must provide timely status information and a perpetually current forecast of resource capacity. The role involves collecting and updating projections for the upcoming 6-month period to support capacity forecasting and reconcile past resource allocations with realized capacity based on input from project teams. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Strategy & Planning Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders. Set, manage, and communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas. Report on the status of existing projects. Define project success criteria and communicate them to involved parties throughout the life cycle. Conduct post-mortems/retrospectives and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management. Acquisition & Deployment Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Forecast future resource capacity. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend budget changes where necessary. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for acquisition of required personnel from within the company. Operational Management Direct and manage project development from beginning to end. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors to take positive action and accountability for their work. Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to project success. Ensure timely data entry and reporting by process owners and address deficiencies with PMO leadership. Supervisory Responsibilities No current supervisory responsibilities. Matrix leadership for technical and business resources supporting projects. Education And/or Experience Bachelor's degree in a business or technology-related field. 1-3 years of relevant experience, including progressively responsible project and portfolio management experience. Experience in scoping project requests and developing end-user requirements. Experience in business process analysis and re-engineering. Formal training in project management concepts, methodologies and tools; PMP preferred, CAPM acceptable with commensurate experience. Direct work experience in a project management capacity, including process development and execution. Strong familiarity with project management software and portfolio management tools. Ability to work independently and in a team environment; ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources. Adept at researching project-related issues and products; ability to manage multiple projects with defined priorities.
