Job Description
Job Description Salary: The Handyman is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and basic construction tasks to ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires a versatile skill set, including basic electrical work, wall patching, painting, demolition, and general upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine facility repairs, including fixing doors, windows, locks, and fixtures. - Conduct minor electrical work such as replacing light fixtures, switches, or outlets. - Handle basic plumbing tasks as needed (unclogging drains, replacing faucets).
- Patch and repair walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. - Prepare, sand, and paint interior and exterior areas. - Ensure clean, professional finishes on all repair and painting work. - Carry out light demolition tasks, such as removing drywall, flooring, or fixtures. - Assist with small renovation projects and provide labor support to skilled tradespeople. - Ensure proper disposal of debris and materials after demolition. - Perform general cleaning and maintenance, including sweeping, power washing, and organizing work areas. - Inspect facilities to identify repair needs and report major issues to supervisors. - Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. - 24 years of experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or construction (preferred). - Basic knowledge of electrical, painting, carpentry, and demolition. - Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Physical stamina to lift, climb, and perform manual labor in varied conditions.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions. - Physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.
