Purchasing Assistant Position Overview We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Assistant to support our Purchasing Department. In this role, you will manage our Backorder Report, ensure purchase order data stays accurate, and maintain clear, timely communication with both vendors and internal teams. You’ll play a key role in keeping projects moving, solving problems before they escalate, and ensuring customers receive accurate delivery information. Key Responsibilities

Backorder Report Management

Update and maintain the Backorder Report regularly. Communicate with vendors for status updates, documenting ship dates, tracking numbers, cancellations, and discontinued items. Provide Sales Representatives with accurate delivery timelines for customer updates. Track discontinued or cancelled items and promptly inform the Purchasing Manager and Sales team. Assist with general administrative tasks to support the Purchasing Department. Vendor Communication & Sourcing

Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors. Keep vendor contact lists and pricing up-to-date. Assist in sourcing and evaluating alternative suppliers when needed. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred; additional education in business, supply chain, or related fields is a plus. Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or administrative support preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable learning ERP systems (e.g., Fishbowl). Highly detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. #ZROBT
