Fabricator/Welder
: Dixon, IL Our customer in Dixon, Illinois is hiring
Fabricators/Welders
for 1st shift positions. They are a manufacturing plant that values trust, teamwork, and innovation. As a Fabricator/Welder, you would be responsible for processing and assembling a variety of fabrication jobs and completing assigned tasks with high quality and on schedule. You would also be required to perform general arc welding (“MIG”) process, operate machinery to perform grinding; may be required to be trained in using Hyd & CNC brake press and shears & CNC plasma cutting.
Responsibilities of the
Fabricator/Welder
:
Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines. Operates welding equipment, arc gouging equipment, oxy-fuel and brazing torches, jigs, holding fixtures, measuring instruments, personal computer (PC) and hand tools. Conducts visual and dimensional check of own work and completed work of lower level welders plus provides work
assistance/guidance/training
to lower level Welders as required. Follows general work orders and specific safety procedures in the fabrication of difficult production parts and a variety of sub and final weldments of all sizes and configurations through general arc welding, MIG. Work requires hand set-ups. Completes, modifies, and/or enhances final products as required. Operates drill press, brake press & other equipment. Must read drawings (blueprints) in order to fabricate a variety of complex, low and high-volume parts. Required to inspect & approve own work prior to next operation. Maintains work area, equipment and supplies in neat, organized manner. Final inspection of finished work and timely completion of associated paperwork. Provide assistance to co-workers as requested by department management. Fabricator/Welder
Requirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Related experience or completed training. Advanced computer skills specifically Microsoft products. Trade School Certification is preferred. Similar or related product knowledge is preferred. Experience in a production environment is preferred. Pay
