Job Summary
The Office Assistant serves as initial contact for the department in absence of the Administrative Assistant, answers telephones, assesses and responds to inquiries, provides appropriate information and direction for students, staff and faculty. The Office Assistant will contribute to event planning, data collection, and marketing associated with the Griffon Office of Applied Learning.
Essential Duties Answers telephone Provides support when Administrative Assistant is not available Distributes incoming mail, provides direction for students, faculty and staff Makes and distributes copies, organizes supplies Other duties relevant to the position. Required Qualifications
MWSU Student Degree Seeking Maintain 2.0 GPA Enrolled in a minimum of 6 Credit Hours Federal Work Study eligibility preferred but not required. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Courteous, helpful, diplomatic and professional in all aspects of the position. A motivated self-starter with an attention to detail are a must.
Physical Demands Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
