Aquatic Program Instructor

Responsible for teaching swim lessons, Blue Fin Swim Team clinics, provides water safety presentations, and helps with Town special events. Provides members and guests with a safe and enjoyable experience. Examples of duties include: Providing safe and effective swim lessons to members and guests. Preventing accidents and minimizing hazardous situations. Providing emergency care and treatment to participants as necessary. Enforcing all safety rules and regulations of the aquatics facility. Adhering to all written mandatory standards of operation, policies, procedures, manuals, memos, and oral instructions. Administering aquatic services as set forth by the facility. Preparing and submitting reports to include rescues, assists, accidents, and first aid. Attending mandatory training and in-service meetings. Informing Supervisor of all work-related activities. Adhering to the personnel, safety, and divisional policies and procedures of the Town. Assisting co-workers and other divisions as needed. Performing other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: Basic qualifications: A High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is preferred. Must be at least 16 years of age. Education: Must become CPR/First Aid and Water Safety Instructor certified within 30 days of hire date. Must submit to and pass a post-offer, non-regulated drug test and thorough background checks. Desired qualifications: Knowledge/skills/abilities: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communicative skills, both oral and written. Ability to maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers. Physical abilities: Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
