Aquatic Program Manager

Plans, promotes and develops aquatic programming for all ages to include swim classes, aquatic programming, and aquatic special events. Oversees the swim instructors and provides aquatic instruction. Assists in supervision of Head Lifeguards and Lifeguards. Examples of Duties

Coordinates instructional swimming classes, aquatic programs, and aquatic special events. Assists with the supervision of personnel who carry out swimming classes and aquatic programs; solicits contract instructors to teach classes and programs for the Town of Flower Mound. Disseminates aquatic program information to patrons. Assists in supervision of aquatic staff, including Water Safety Instructors, Head Lifeguards, and Lifeguards; supervision includes scheduling, hiring/termination, discipline, and on-going training and in-services. Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks necessary for successful aquatic program operations. Assists with managing the operation and maintenance of the pools. Assists with the distribution, control, and requisitioning of aquatic equipment and supplies and class supplies. Recommends and enforces policies and procedures for the aquatics program. Supports other areas within the Parks and Recreation Division by assisting with special events, recreational programs, facility rentals, and facility coverage issues in the absence of staff. Serves as Manager on Duty at the Community Activity Center on nights and weekends as scheduled. Prepares and submits reports to include participant attendance, expenses, and revenue. Informs supervisor of all work-related activities. Inputs, updates, and monitors all aquatic related courses in the class system including maintaining waitlists, course rosters, and account payable. Adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures of the Town. Assists co-workers and other departments as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, or related field.

Current CPR/First Aid, Lifeguard, and Water Safety Instructor certifications. Over one (1) year of experience coordinating an aquatics program. Physical Abilities

Ability to perform strenuous physical activities, including running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. of sports and other equipment.

Experience with Class software and When To Work software.

Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, and Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certifications. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Excellent leadership, organizational, training, and communication skills (oral and written).

Ability to maintain effective and courteous working relationships with the public, employees, and volunteers.

Ability to work various hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
