Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Job Title: General Ledger (GL) Accountant

Location: On-site - San Francisco, CA

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 (DOE)

Law firm accounting experience required

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities accurately and timely.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with attorneys, partners, and administrative staff to provide financial insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Law firm accounting experience required (2+ years preferred).
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong GL exposure.
• Proficiency in accounting software (experience with law firm ERP systems a plus).
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with both finance and non-finance teams.
