Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school-based social worker position is available in Joliet, IL, offering the opportunity to support students social and emotional well-being within an educational environment. This contract role involves working closely with students, families, and school staff to address challenges that impact academic success and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student circumstances
  • Provide counseling services and crisis intervention as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive environments
  • Connect students and families with community resources and external services
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student support plans

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Valid social work license or eligibility for licensure in Illinois
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in school or related settings
  • Strong knowledge of child development, mental health issues affecting youth, and family dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with community resources and referral processes
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
