CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for an IT Desktop Support role.

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M–F, 8am–5pm
Education: Associates Degree preferred; HS Diploma or GED required

Description

The IT Desktop Support Technician (Corporate Field Services) will provide technical assistance and support for incoming service requests/incidents related to computer systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure both in-person and remotely at a manufacturing facility in Corning, NY. The successful candidate will be highly customer-focused, technically adept, and capable of diagnosing, resolving, or routing issues according to established processes and procedures.

This role requires a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11, Office 365, Active Directory, and related enterprise applications. The IT Desktop Support Technician will rely on internal training, technical expertise, and sound judgment to support end users while maintaining service level agreements and ensuring an excellent customer experience.

Requirements

• Provide desktop and laptop support including imaging, deployment, troubleshooting, and repair
• Administer Active Directory accounts, permissions, and group policies
• Troubleshoot Cisco VPN and Citrix connectivity issues
• Provide limited support for corporate mobile devices
• Support cloud applications such as OneDrive, Box, and Office365
• Remediate issues related to Symantec Endpoint Protection
• Utilize tools such as Dameware and Altiris Deployment Server for remote support and imaging
• Perform hardware ordering, deployment, asset management, and inventory tracking
• Support conference room and audio/visual equipment, printers, and drivers
• Configure and support applications such as Adobe products, Check Point endpoint client software, and Cisco WebEx
• Provide user administration support for Box and standard IP telephony deployment
• Participate in knowledge base management, documentation, and records maintenance
• Collaborate across teams and participate in technical roundtables as needed
• Manage ServiceNow tickets from creation through resolution while maintaining SLAs
• Perform customer scheduling, follow-ups, and equipment moves (disconnect/reconnect)
• Complete Smart Hands tasks/functions outside of standard operational support
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Required Qualifications

Education
• Associates Degree preferred; HS Diploma or GED required

Qualifications
• 1+ year of hands-on hardware experience (beyond imaging/deployment)
• 1+ year of customer service or in-person IT support experience
• Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Office 365, and enterprise applications
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with diverse groups of customers, team members, and leadership
• Strong time management and ownership of ticket resolution/follow-up
