Job Title: Director of Human Resources (HR)
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Salary: $75,000 to $100,000 Yearly

The role primarily involves employee orientation, benefits administration, compensation, rewards, conflict resolution, legal and employment matters, and developing and refining policies, procedures, and systems.
Objectives of this RoleSupervise and improve employee standards, policies, and procedures using HRIS tools such as UKG Pro / Kronos Workforce Central.
Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expense reimbursement, and PTO.
Direct recruitment efforts and lead employee education and onboarding programs.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws, conduct investigations, and maintain employment records.
Identify and recommend improvements to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale/culture enhancement initiatives.
Support departments in developing and delivering strategic HR plans that align with overall business direction.
Plan, monitor, and update leadership on HR activities, including scheduling management conferences, resolving employee disputes, training managers, and counseling employees.
Champion the onboarding process, ensuring clarity, connection, and alignment with business vision.
Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.
Supervise and process bi-weekly payroll, ensure accurate HRIS updates, and collaborate with HR Assistants and CFO for checks and balances.
Build strong relationships with external vendors and suppliers, fostering trust and collaboration.
Handle confidential matters with discretion and tact.
10+ years of experience in human resources and employee recruitment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethical mindset.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Familiarity with UKG PRO HRIS and payroll software.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources or related field.
Experience supervising outside legal counsel as needed.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local HR laws.
Interest in working for a family-owned and operated company.
5+ years of experience in related HR leadership roles.
