Overview

Senior Accountant position at Specialized Fabrication Equipment (S.F.E.) Group. The role provides financial leadership to prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, while producing reliable financial reports to track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and execute the accounting month-end close process in a timely manner.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, verify deposits, handle bank inquiries, reconcile cash disbursements, payroll, customer accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Evaluate and analyze costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost control methods.
  • Analyze capital expenditures to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Oversee fixed assets and inventory movements and lead the annual inventory verification process.
  • Assist accounts receivable, collaborate to resolve billing or related issues, implement collection strategies, reconcile accounts, and analyze aging reports.
  • Assist accounts payable with invoices, payments, vendor communication, and compliance. Oversee purchasing, invoicing, analyze aging reports, and ensure smooth operations and vendor relationships.
  • Develop and manage the annual plan and trailing forecast. Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support management for strategic planning and decision making.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings in compliance with tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups and maintain the integrity of internal controls.
  • Support outside audits by providing accurate financial documents and acting as a liaison between auditors and departments for information gathering.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Prepare financial statements in conjunction with the Controller, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting, providing financial forecasts for future periods.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of all accounts.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • At least five years of related experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Experience with preparation of accurate tax reports.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, preferred.
