What To Expect

Summary: The IT Support Technician II will be responsible for answering incoming support calls and providing efficient, strong customer support. The role involves direct client communication, investigating problems on systems, and collaborating with IT department teammates. Candidates should have strong problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively under pressure, and be willing to learn and contribute to the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephone/verbal application support to resolve incidents as appropriate.
  • Maintain written communication (log updates) to a professional and legible standard.
  • Keep clients informed of the progress of outstanding tickets.
  • Monitor call stack and prioritize tickets by severity and client.
  • Provide personalized, high-quality service to clients.
  • Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems using testing tools and techniques.
  • Configure, install, update, troubleshoot, repair and replace computer systems, terminals, peripheral equipment and related hardware.
  • Configure, install, update, troubleshoot, repair and replace computer applications.
  • Provide internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or degraded performance.
  • Assign port permissions on network switches.
  • Manage SCCM client software deployments.
  • Maintain current Active Directory accounts for clients and computers.
  • Provide Tier 1 telecom support for clients and hardware.
  • Hours may include nights and weekends.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience working on a help desk preferred.
  • macOS and Windows 10 operating systems experience required.
  • Office 2010–2016 experience required.
  • Experience configuring PC hardware required.
  • Experience with network cabling & troubleshooting.
  • Telecom experience required.
  • Knowledge of Pixel POS (POS systems) recommended.
  • SCCM and AD experience recommended.
  • SQL or other database management recommended.
  • A+ certification recommended.
  • MCP certification recommended.
  • MCSE certification recommended.

Work Environment

General office environment where you will walk, bend and stand for periods of time.

Other

Salary range for this position is $25.00 to $30.29 per hour.
