A Virginia-based opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher specializing in elementary education for 3rd to 5th grades. This contract position focuses on providing both push-in and pull-out services to support students with disabilities in an elementary school setting. The role requires a commitment to delivering tailored instruction and fostering an inclusive learning environment aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning.

Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs within 3rd to 5th grade classrooms. Conduct assessments and continuously monitor student progress and achievement. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to support student success. Implement effective behavior management techniques and inclusive classroom practices. Ensure full compliance with all applicable special education laws, regulations, and school policies. Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. Provisional Special Education License (which includes employment in a Virginia school, mentor support, and completion of an introductory SPED course) or full Virginia Special Education License. Endorsement through completion of a VDOE-approved special education preparation program or approximately 27 credits in special education coursework covering assessment, collaboration, instruction, IEP development, reading/math strategies, and transition planning.
