Responsibilities: Assess and develop individualized orientation and mobility plans tailored to students' needs Teach safe travel techniques and spatial awareness to students with visual impairments Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to integrate mobility goals into overall educational plans Provide training and guidance on the use of mobility tools and assistive technology Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to promote confidence and safety Qualifications: Valid certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments Strong knowledge of orientation and mobility techniques and relevant assistive technologies Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and families Excellent communication and organizational skills Location: Riverside, CA Benefits: Full-time contract position for the full school year Engagement in a supportive educational environment focused on student growth This role offers a rewarding professional experience for OMS professionals dedicated to enhancing mobility and independence in the school setting.
