Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction focused on life skills, employee development, functional living skills, and community access Collaborate closely with a co-teacher, coordinator, and social worker to meet student needs Participate in interdisciplinary teamwork alongside speech-language pathologists (SLP), psychologists, occupational therapists (OT), and physical therapists (PT) Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students transition goals Foster a positive learning environment that encourages independence and practical skill acquisition Qualifications and Experience: Certified Special Education Teacher with experience in high school settings Familiarity with transition programs that emphasize life and community skills Strong collaboration and communication skills for working in multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs and abilities Previous experience with functional living skills and employee development initiatives is preferred As a part of this program, youll contribute to meaningful outcomes that prepare students for greater independence and integration into the community. The role offers a supportive setting with access to various specialized professionals to aid in student success.
