A specialized teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve at the high school level. Location: Buffalo, NY Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create an inclusive environment. Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and disabilities. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and educational standards. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to discuss student goals, achievements, and areas for improvement. Foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and self-esteem. Desired Qualifications: Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with high school students in a special education setting. Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to student success.
