An opportunity is available for a Teacher specialized in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education within a K-12 school setting in Dallas, TX. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and involves working directly with students who have hearing impairments, providing tailored instruction to support their academic and social development. Responsibilities include: Developing and delivering specialized lesson plans aligned with individual education programs (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Utilizing a variety of communication methods, including sign language and assistive technologies, to facilitate learning. Collaborating with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and support staff to ensure cohesive educational support. Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies to maximize learning outcomes. Maintaining detailed records of student performance and communicating effectively with parents and guardians. Preferred qualifications and experience: Certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or related field. Experience teaching students across the K-12 spectrum with hearing impairments. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive listening devices. Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Location: Dallas, TX
