This position seeks a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education for a K-12 school setting. The role involves delivering specialized instruction to support students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic growth and communication skills.

Location: Metairie, LA Job Type: Contract, Calendar School Year (CSY) Responsibilities include: Planning and implementing individualized lesson plans tailored to students with hearing impairments Utilizing sign language and other communication strategies to enhance student learning Collaborating with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to address students' educational needs Conducting assessments and tracking student progress in compliance with IEP goals Maintaining a supportive and inclusive classroom environment Qualifications and desired experience: Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or related field Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods used within the deaf community Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs This contract opportunity offers the chance to positively impact the educational experience of students requiring specialized support.
