This contract position is seeking an experienced Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to support students in a K-12 school setting. Based in Marion, NC, the role is ideal for professionals who specialize in helping visually impaired students develop the skills necessary to navigate their environments safely and independently throughout the school year.

Provide training and resources to staff to support students' navigation within school facilities. Maintain detailed records of student progress and adjust interventions as necessary. Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines related to services for students with visual impairments. Qualifications: Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS credential preferred). Experience working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Strong understanding of techniques to assist individuals with visual impairments. Ability to assess mobility needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
