Key Responsibilities: Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for students, teachers, and staff in classroom and school-related activities Facilitate effective communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and their peers, educators, and parents Collaborate with educational teams to support individualized education program (IEP) goals related to communication access Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Adapt interpreting techniques to meet diverse educational environments and needs Desired Qualifications: Proven experience as a certified Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in K-12 educational settings Strong familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture Ability to interpret a variety of instructional and social situations within the school environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere Location: Chico, California Employment Type: Contract, Current School Year duration This position provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' educational experiences while developing professional skills within a supportive community.
