Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technology to enhance communication and learning. Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to create inclusive learning experiences. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly. Provide advocacy and resources for students and their families to support educational success. Desired Qualifications: State teaching certification in Deaf Education or related field. Experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly preferred. Strong understanding of audiological equipment and assistive listening devices. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Location: Mount Prospect, Illinois Contract Details: Current school year assignment.
