Overview
IT Systems Administrator role at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. The IT Systems Administrator will be part of an Infrastructure team responsible for supporting the firm in all areas related to infrastructure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment using leading-edge technologies including Microsoft, VMware, Pure, ZERTO, Cohesity and other technologies. The role involves both support and modernization of the firms suite of products. This position will work hybrid from Akron, Columbus or Toledo, Ohio. Base pay range
$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr Education, Experience and Skills Required
2 or 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and related experience/training Minimum 3 years of experience in systems administration, cloud computing, or a similar role In-depth knowledge of network, storage, and compute virtualization technologies Hardware, Microsoft Server OS, VMware, Pure Storage, APC, Eaton and more In-depth knowledge of networking principles, design, and configuration of Microsoft servers In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP, WMI, Microsoft Azure and O365 Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS and DFS, DHCP, and other network services, as well as GPOs Experience with Azure Virtual Desktops, configuration, monitoring, and management Experience with Network printing, PowerShell scripting and BC/DR practices Experience with SSO and MFA technologies and an understanding of MPLS and SD-WAN technologies Project Management skills are a plus Maintain, support and monitor the firms Azure and on-premises infrastructure Monitor system performance and capacity of all firm infrastructure-related technologies Perform regular system updates, backups, and maintenance tasks Manage and maintain storage solutions and data protection using PURE, Cohesity, HP and Synology technologies Utilize ZERTO for disaster recovery and data replication Assist in Azure migration projects, migrating existing applications and workloads to the Azure environment Knowledge of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, security, and database offerings Familiarity with Azure networking concepts, such as virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups Experience with Azure Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Azure Active Directory Familiarity with Azure monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Sentinel, Azure Log Analytics) Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with existing systems to identify and resolve problems Design and deploy new computer systems based on firm standards in offices and datacenter locations (e.g. Microsoft Intune, System Center, Windows Imaging Tools) Maintaining and updating existing computer networks and adding new features as needed Coordinating with others for projects or maintenance involving multiple departments Testing new or revised hardware and software solutions to ensure it performs as expected Develop and document processes and procedures to reduce recurring system issues Provide second-level support, including on-call after-hours, holiday and weekend support as needed; escalate problems to outside vendor or consulting support as appropriate Present proposals for improvements to end-users along with middle and upper management Responsible for monitoring infrastructure for version upgrades or necessary patching Implement system interfaces among different applications Work with users and develop relationships to understand requirements, value, prioritization, and acceptance criteria Other duties may be assigned as necessary Responsibilities (additional)
