Job Details We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Real Estate Finance Attorney to join our legal team. This role focuses on lender-side representation in real estate finance, working with a diverse range of banking clients, including institutional lenders. The attorney will be involved in CMBS, construction lending, and real estate capital markets, with a strong emphasis on loan documentation, workout and restructuring, deal structuring, and real estate lending.
Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel to banking clients on all aspects of commercial real estate finance, including loan documentation, deal structuring, and workout/restructuring.
Represent lenders in complex transactions, including construction lending and CMBS.
Develop and maintain proactive client relationships to meet and exceed expectations.
Stay current on real estate law and regulations to provide accurate, up-to-date advice.
Collaborate with attorneys and professionals to deliver comprehensive legal services.
Contribute to strategies for structuring transactions and managing risks.
Draft and review loan documents, security agreements, and related documents.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law with a focus on commercial real estate finance.
Proven experience representing lenders in commercial real estate transactions.
In-depth knowledge of CMBS, construction lending, and real estate capital markets.
Proficient in drafting and reviewing loan documentation.
Strong understanding of workout and restructuring strategies and risk management in deals.
Excellent client relationship management, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
