An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher in a K-6 public school setting located in Bridgeport, CT. This contract position runs for the upcoming school year, Monday through Friday from 8:40 AM to 4:00 PM. The role primarily focuses on teaching grades 5-6 within a self-contained intensive education classroom.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of six paraprofessionals to ensure effective implementation of behavioral and academic interventions. Key qualifications and experience desired: Certified Special Education Teacher eligible for K-12 instruction Strong background in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Experience with Discrete Trial Instruction and/or working with students on the autism spectrum Ability to manage an intensive education classroom with a small student-to-staff ratio Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work with paras and support staff This role provides the chance to impact the lives of diverse learners through specialized, hands-on teaching methods in a supportive environment.
