Responsibilities include: Assisting the student throughout the school day, ensuring their safety and well-being Supporting the student's academic and social development by working closely with teachers and staff Managing medical and mobility needs under supervision and following established care plans Facilitating communication between the student and peers to encourage inclusion and participation Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the student's progress and health status Preferred qualifications/experience: Previous experience as a paraprofessional supporting students with medical fragility or complex health needs Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations Strong interpersonal skills and patience in working with children with special healthcare requirements Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and related documentation Commitment to upholding confidentiality and professional standards Location: Cumberland, Rhode Island Middle School setting This contract position for the current school year offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a student requiring specialized care and support.
