An Elementary Teacher specializing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) is needed for a part-time contract position in King, NC. This role will primarily support students who are deaf or hard of hearing at the elementary school level. The assignment is set for the current school year (CSY) with the potential for virtual duties in the future. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction and support tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to accommodate communication preferences and learning styles. Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to create an inclusive learning environment. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) specific to students auditory and communication needs. Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff. Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. Qualifications: Certification or proven experience in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral techniques, or other relevant strategies. Experience working with elementary-aged students. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Flexibility for onsite work with potential transition to virtual duties as needed. Location: King, North Carolina
