Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across grades K-12 Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies to support student learning Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Provide support and resources to families and staff regarding DHH educational needs Participate in professional development opportunities relevant to DHH education Qualifications and Desired Experience: Certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or closely related field Experience teaching K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Strong knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip reading, or auditory-oral techniques Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive classroom environments Location: Position based in Newburgh, NY, serving a K-12 school community Contract Details: Contract duration: Current School Year (CSY) This role is a contract assignment This opportunity is ideal for educators seeking to apply specialized skills in DHH education within a dynamic K-12 environment.
