$40 - $55 per hour About the Role:
Soliant Education and VocoVision are seeking two skilled Remote Educational ASL Interpreters to support deaf and hard of hearing students in elementary and intermediate school settings. This role involves facilitating communication between students, hearing peers, teachers, and school staff to ensure equitable access to education. Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication and education for deaf and hard of hearing students in the classroom.
Provide sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting services.
Assist students with academic subjects including reading, writing, and math.
Support students in vocational and daily living skills as needed.
Monitor students during classroom, outdoor, and community activities.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, school personnel, and families.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
OR
Achieved a score of 4.0 or above on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment as per California state requirements.
Candidates with an EIPA score below 4.0 will be considered for an Onsite ASL Paraprofessional position ($28-$37/hr).
Must pass the VocoVision Technology Screening (requires sufficient internet connection, updated laptop and camera, and ability to use apps like Zoom).
Must have or be able to obtain Professional Liability Insurance.
Additional Information:
This is a remote position supporting students in Durham, CA.
Full-time role with approximately 30 hours per week, 6 hours daily.
Position runs through the 2025-2026 school year contract.
