1:1 Sign Language Interpreter

for a full-time, onsite position working with an elementary-level student in the California, MD area. This is a contract role for the 20252026 school year with weekly pay and full benefits. Responsibilities:

Provide direct 1:1 ASL interpretation for an elementary-aged student during the school day

Facilitate effective communication between the student and teachers, staff, and peers

Support the student in accessing the general education curriculum

Work closely with school staff, special education teams, and families

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Adapt communication methods to meet the needs of the student

Requirements:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

Hold an EIPA score of 3.0or higher (or RID/NIC certification)

Experience working in educational settings, preferably at the elementary level

Must be able to pass background check and meet school district compliance requirements

Reliable transportation to and from the school site
