An opportunity is available for a Special Education teacher with expertise in autism to cover a maternity leave at a middle school setting. This contract position spans from October 27, 2025, through March 13, 2026, and involves supporting students in grades 6 through 8.

Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and intervention for students with autism in grades 6-8 Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and classroom environments Track student progress and adjust teaching approaches to meet individual needs Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with special education regulations Desired Qualifications: Experience teaching students with autism in a middle school setting Valid special education teaching certification Strong knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and related instructional techniques Ability to manage a caseload typical for grades 6 through 8 Effective communication and collaboration skills Location: Trenton, NJ This contract assignment offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment while covering a key maternity leave position.
