An Adaptive Physical Education Teacher is sought for a K-12 school in Westerville, OH, for the upcoming school year under a contract assignment. This role focuses on providing specialized physical education services to students with disabilities, helping them develop motor and physical skills to their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities: Identify students who require Adaptive Physical Education (APE) services. Collaborate as part of an evaluation team to assess motor and physical development abilities. Develop, write, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students eligible for APE. Participate in IEP meetings as needed. Coordinate with special education, general education, and physical education teachers to design suitable APE programs. Deliver individualized instructional programs tailored to student needs. Work with individuals and groups to enhance motor skills, coordination, and physical as well as social-psychological performance. Modify the standard physical education curriculum to accommodate APE students. Provide in-service training for school personnel and community members. Offer consultations to students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Maintain ongoing communication with physical education instructors, special education staff, principals, and administrative personnel. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Special Education. Qualifications: Must hold an Ohio Special Education Teachers Certificate with endorsement for Adaptive Physical Education. Experience working with children with disabilities in physical education settings is highly valued.
