A contract position is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in Lehigh Acres, FL. This role provides essential communication access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, enhancing their educational experience in a dynamic school setting. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL). Accurately interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events. Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure students needs are met. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of ethical interpreting. Desired Qualifications: Proficient in American Sign Language with strong interpreting skills. Experience interpreting in K-12 educational environments preferred.
