Elementary Occupational Therapist School Setting - West Lafayette, IN

This opportunity is for a full-time Occupational Therapist to support elementary students across three school sites within driving distance of West Lafayette, IN. The role begins ASAP, with a preferred start date of May 22nd, and runs through the next school year on a contract basis. This position offers 40 hours per week focused on delivering school-based occupational therapy services that foster student growth and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities: Evaluate students to determine eligibility and need for occupational therapy in accordance with IDEA and Section 504 guidelines. Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals related to occupational therapy. Provide direct and consultative OT services using evidence-based strategies in individual, small group, or classroom settings. Collaborate with educators, parents, administrators, and related service providers to support student progress. Address skills in areas including fine motor development, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, activities of daily living, and assistive technology. Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, progress notes, Medicaid billing (if applicable), and service logs. Participate in IEP meetings, student support teams, and multidisciplinary evaluations. Provide training and resources for staff and families to support student needs across environments. Assist in adapting materials and classroom environments to enhance student access and participation. Qualifications: Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Indiana licensure as a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR). Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). School-based experience preferred but not required. Ability to travel between multiple school locations. Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and school-based therapy best practices. Skills and Competencies: Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities. Effective time management and caseload prioritization. Familiarity with assistive technology and sensory integration techniques. Capacity to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Culturally responsive and student-centered approach.
