Special Education Teacher
for a
9th/10th Grade position
at a brand-new high school in a growing charter school network in Pittsburgh, PA. This is an
onsite, full-time
contract position for the 20252026 school year. We are seeking an educator with either
experience in high school special education
or a strong interest in working with this age group. Position Details: Full-time, onsite (35+ hours/week)
High school caseload (currently 22 students, max 25)
Mix of autism support, learning support, and emotional support students
Collaborative team environment
Supportive charter school network
Pay Range:
$35$50per hour (based on experience and certification) Requirements: Valid
Instructional I or II Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate
in Special Education for grades 912 (K12 certification preferred)
Emergency certifications will not be accepted
Prior experience in a high school SPED setting or genuine interest in working with high school students
Must be comfortable working onsite
Must pass background check and other pre-employment screenings
Responsibilities: Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs
Provide direct instruction and support in both individual and small group settings
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
