Key Responsibilities: Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure clear communication and support academic success Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in interpreting Assist in the development of communication plans tailored to individual student needs Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions related to deaf and hard-of-hearing student support Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret fluently in educational settings Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in K-12 schools or similar environments Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational terminology Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Location:Aurora, Illinois This role offers the chance to contribute to an inclusive learning environment by ensuring equitable access to communication.
