A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for a contract covering a full semester in a vibrant K-8 educational setting located approximately 35 minutes north of Norwich, CT. This role offers an opportunity to support Pre-K through 8th-grade students in their speech and language development within a collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities: Actively participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and develop individualized IEP goals and objectives tailored to student needs. Design and implement instructional and therapeutic lessons aligned with IEP objectives to support student progress. Prepare comprehensive written reports including diagnostic data, with recommendations for educational interventions, curricular adjustments, and teaching strategies. Provide consultative services to teachers and school personnel regarding students speech and language performance. Communicate with parents to provide information, support, and updates on student progress where appropriate. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records and sensitive information. Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to promote student success. Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as needed. Carry out other related duties assigned by school administration. Qualifications and Experience: Masters degree from an accredited institution in Speech-Language Pathology or related educational discipline. Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) required. Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. Solid understanding of special education principles, assessment methods, and differentiated instruction techniques suitable for students with special needs. Familiarity with data management systems, data analysis, and action plan development. Awareness of applicable federal and state education laws. Proficiency in computer network systems and necessary software applications. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage in self-evaluation and support continuous professional growth. Demonstrated ability to establish cooperative working relationships within a school setting.
