Job Overview
The Guest Service Ambassador serves as the first and lasting impression of the hotel by providing warm, anticipatory, and seamless service from arrival through departure. This position combines the responsibilities of front desk and bell services to ensure every guest feels welcomed, informed, and cared for. Ambassadors respond to guest needs with efficiency and courtesy, while promoting hotel services, ensuring accurate financial transactions, and assisting with luggage and transportation.
Responsibilities
Warmly greet all guests upon arrival, assist with luggage, valet parking, and provide directions to the front desk.
Facilitate efficient check-in/check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy of reservations, billing, and guest preferences.
Escort guests to rooms as needed, explaining hotel amenities, safety features, and answering questions.
Process reservations, room assignments, and guest inquiries both in person and by phone.
Accurately handle guest accounts, cash, credit cards, and deposits in line with hotel standards.
Utilize suggestive selling techniques to maximize revenue and promote hotel outlets, packages, and upgrades.
Deliver guest requests promptly (linens, amenities, newspapers, packages, etc.) while maintaining accurate logs.
Maintain awareness of security procedures by monitoring access points, reporting safety concerns, and assisting with emergency protocols.
Serve as a local ambassador by providing knowledgeable recommendations on dining, nightlife, attractions, and transportation.
Proactively offer assistance in all guest areas of the hotel; resolve concerns using empowerment to deliver “above and beyond” service.
Maintain a professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor at all times, building lasting guest relationships.
Collaborate with front office, valet, and bell teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Support training of new associates by modeling best practices in hospitality and service delivery.
Offer suggestions to improve guest experience and operational efficiency.
All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
At least two years in the hotel industry.
Knowledge/Skills
Must have past experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills.
Must be fluent in oral and written English.
Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, particularly when performing multiple tasks.
Must have knowledge of local establishments, businesses and the surrounding community in general.
Physical Demands
