Human Resources Manager

AGL is looking for a Human Resources Manager to work in Huntsville, AL. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! AGL is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with outstanding people skills to manage personnel in support of Equipment Redistribution & Divestiture at three Army Continuous Transformation focused locations: Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, and Fort Carson, as well as 11 Continental United States and Outside CONUS locations during fly-away missions. The HRM will ensure that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives. Candidates for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent leadership and communication skills, knowledge of labor laws and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The HRM should improve human resources processes, implement strategies that support business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness and strengthen relations between staff and managers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the management/leadership team to strategically plan, organize, direct, implement, evaluate, and manage the projects' HR needs.
  • Engage with Shared Services departments to execute strategic and tactical operations.
  • Lead a new hire orientation to ensure the onboarding process is complete and in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Provide performance management guidance to managers for coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct thorough and objective employee relations investigations.
  • Work with management on adverse employment actions and manage the review of all termination requests.
  • Manage the leave process and ensure proper coordination with the Leave department.
  • Assist recruiting efforts; local outreach and recruiting events, development of job descriptions for job postings.
  • Conduct an exit interview with departing employees and ensure proper exit information is provided.
  • Provide expertise and hands-on support in multiple HR areas including onboarding, contract phase-ins/phase-outs, employee retention, labor relations, employee relations, management coaching, performance management, compliance, and change management.
  • Partner to ensure all contract-related compensation and benefit actions are taken timely.
  • Provide active leadership in support of recruiting and onboarding activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, sociology/psychology, organizational effectiveness, business administration, or related areas.
  • Minimum of 2 years supporting a unionized environment; in-depth knowledge and understanding of labor relations.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience as HR Business Partner or HR Manager.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor laws, to include both federal and state regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentations; ability to speak confidently and effectively to varied audiences; proven professional writing ability.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, deal with ambiguity, change, and shift priorities.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must have a valid Alabama driver's license w/proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must have a Real ID.
