A Special Education certified teacher opportunity is available in Billings, MT, serving grades 6 through 12 in a dynamic K-12 school setting. This contract-to-hire position offers a full-time, Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, following the academic calendar.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Build strong, supportive relationships with students, particularly those facing mental health challenges. Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate small caseloads ranging from 8-12 students, with some classes as small as 4-5, across a variety of subjects including Vocational Agriculture, Woodworking, PE, Art, Music, Business Education, Technology, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and English. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student progress and well-being. Participate in training and certification for Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP), enhancing skills in de-escalation and safe physical intervention techniques when necessary. Desired Qualifications: Current Special Education certification. Experience with IEP development and implementation. Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, families, and staff. Ability to work effectively with students experiencing mental health issues.
