Maintenance Technician | Orangeburg Area The Sunshine House is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of non-licensed mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair on our preschools throughout the Lowcountry. Pay range: $18-$20 hour , plus a company vehicle. Learn more about us by visiting Responsibilities: Perform minor repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting, HVAC, etc., unrelated to building property management work With direction from a supervisor, prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests, respond to calls as required, and complete any assigned preventative maintenance work and procedures Help to ensure all building and maintenance policies, procedures, codes, regulations, etc., are followed and enforced, including safety systems and standards Handle occasional non-technical repairs of the facility (e.g., hanging pictures, desk repairs, ceiling repairs, etc.) Periodic overnight travel (one week every other month) may be required. Travels from Columbia to Charleston to perform building maintenance Requirements Associate's degree in HVAC or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary At least 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience preferably in a commercial or industrial facility with an emphasis in facility maintenance plus experience with electrical, building equipment and building repairs Written and verbal communication skills Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be detail-oriented Ability to work independently and be resourceful Customer service skills Flexible and adaptable Must pass a criminal background check and have a clean driving record Physical Requirements Climbing up and down stairs, walking on uneven and narrow surfaces Climbing up and down ladders Kneeling, bending, stretching, and stooping Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds Benefits Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, dental & vision insurance Generous paid time off and paid holidays Consistent Monday-Friday schedule FREE childcare tuition Career advancement & growth opportunities 401K retirement plan Company-paid life insurance Employee discount program Same day pay available Team-oriented, family-like environment The Sunshine House is an equal opportunity employer.
