Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and adapt curriculum to meet the unique educational needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote student success. Utilize specialized techniques and technology to enhance communication, auditory skills, and overall academic achievement. Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders. Advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students access to resources and accommodations within the school setting. Qualifications: Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or a related field. Proven experience teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 environment. Strong knowledge of communication modalities such as American Sign Language (ASL), speech therapy methods, and assistive listening devices. Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaboration and communication with students, parents, and staff. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles and needs.
