An opportunity is available for a dedicated educator specializing in instruction for students with visual impairments. This role involves working within a K-12 setting to provide tailored educational support and services that enable students with visual impairments to achieve their academic and developmental goals during the contract school year.

Key Responsibilities: Design and implement individualized educational plans for students with visual impairments. Utilize specialized teaching techniques and adaptive technologies to facilitate learning and independence. Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress. Conduct assessments and monitor student performance in alignment with educational standards. Provide guidance and training on assistive devices and materials to students and staff. Ensure a safe and accessible learning environment tailored to student needs. Qualifications and Experience: Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Visual Impairment. Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments or blindness. Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive teaching strategies. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) and conduct assessments. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Location: Laurel, Maryland This contract role covers the course of the school year, providing a meaningful opportunity to impact student success within a supportive educational community.
