Provide specialized instructional support for elementary students in grades 3-5 requiring special education services within an inclusive classroom setting. Hold either a Provisional Special Education License (requiring employment in a Virginia school, mentorship, and an introductory special education course) or a full Virginia special education license achieved through coursework meeting VDOE standards. Completion of a VDOE-approved special education preparation program or approximately 27 credits in essential special education coursework (including assessment, collaboration, instruction, IEP development, reading and math interventions, and transition planning).
