Grade: Exempt 57 Job Code: 126176 JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for administration of applications, operating systems, databases, or hardware. Responsibilities include installation, upgrade, change control, real-time monitoring, accuracy, coordination, troubleshooting, problem resolution, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Handles complex responsibilities related to the primary focus of the job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Establish, test, and implement procedures for application or data backup and recovery. Maintain application or IT systems, including installation of patches, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and tuning. Develop, test, implement, and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures. Ensure high accuracy, coordination, and administration of databases, systems, and applications. Provide real-time support and updates to databases, networks, and systems. Install and upgrade application systems or IT systems (operating systems, storage systems, Data Center hardware, or databases) independently or as part of a team. Assist in coordination and monitoring of systems, databases, and system software for problems or modifications. Utilize project management skills to fulfill responsibilities. Support multiple, complex, and/or advanced application or IT systems. Perform impact analysis of new or expanding application or IT systems and coordinate with Systems Analysts for necessary upgrades to meet service levels. Provide input on the impact of prospective upgrades and work efforts. Maintain understanding of future technology directions for supported systems. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and 6 years of experience supporting complex and/or advanced application or IT systems; or High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience supporting complex and/or advanced application or IT systems. WORKING CONDITIONS
Extensive hours working at a PC. May require working non-standard schedules. SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
